Experience driving in the
Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert with
your own vehicle.
Come on your own or bring some
friends, we can cater for parties of 4x4 vehicles.

The name of the
company derives from the blue Landrover Defender which originally
started
the adventure group and also from the Berber language, the word Tamlalt meaning
‘gazelle’. The Berber are the indigenous - and originally nomadic - peoples of
Morocco and the language, mostly based on an oral tradition, is widely spoken.
Because we are
based in Morocco, we have the experience to know the people and the
off-road tracks very well. Knowing where there are some good off-road
places to drive whether it is in the desert, various mountain ranges or
the coastline, beautiful palm groves or past ancient Berber villages. It
also means we know when the terrain changes with the weather conditions.
So that you can have
an unforgettable holiday and go home wanting more, we try to ensure all the
4x4 adventures run as smoothly as possible.
You can either
join a 4x4 group by bringing your own vehicle or hire one. You can book your
flight, provide us with the information to meet you at the airport where a hired
4x4 will await you for your adventure.
The next group adventures are being
organised for November 2006, February and August 2007 (See Group Off Road page)
When you bring
your own 4x4 or Landrover, you drive Europe before arriving in Morocco for the
off-road adventure. We can reserve your ferry crossing for you from England to
France or Spain. or you can be put in touch with an agent.
Tickets for the
ferry from Spain to Morocco can be bought in the south of Spain to
depart from Algeciras to Cueta or Tanger. There are also overnight ferry
routes from Almeria in the south of Spain or from Sete in the south of
France to Nador on the Mediterranean coast of Morocco.
Accommodation is
reserved on a half-board basis in hotels, auberges (smaller hotels often more
rural), or in bivouacs which are tents under the stars with meals included, or
there may be camping either on campsites or in the ‘wild’ -
for
example, an old fort or near Berber villages.
Some breakfasts
and dinners are therefore included, and you may lunch as you so wish. Camping
days are mostly self-catering, although there may be a village or café nearby!
We will explore
the mountains, the desert, the coast, driving off-road to some remote and
beautiful areas not normally accessible except in 4x4’s.
So come and
experience the heady mix that is Morocco – we promise you will never forget it.
